A preventive program is a cooperative effort by the patient, dentist, and dental staff to preserve the natural dentition and supporting structures by preventing the onset, progress, and recurrence of dental diseases and conditions.
Preventing dental disease starts at home with good oral hygiene and a balanced diet. It is continued in the dental office by the efforts of your dentist and dental hygienist to promote, restore, and maintain your oral health.
Prevention also includes regular dental exams, cleanings, and x-rays. Sealants and fluoride are also great preventive treatments that help protect the teeth. Prevention helps avoid serious and costly dental problems and is the key to having a healthy, confident, beautiful smile.
Dr. Matt Grill grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, earned his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University (Microbiology) and attended The University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry where he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2001. Upon completing dental school Dr. Grill joined the Navy and completed a one-year advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) residency. He practiced with the Navy in Norfolk, VA and Parris Island, SC from 2001-2004. In 2004, Dr. Grill moved to Savannah to begin his career in private practice.
Dr. Grill is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Georgia Dental Association (GDA), the Southeast District Dental Society (SEDDS), and the Savannah Dental Society. Affiliations with these groups allow him to stay up to date with the latest trends, techniques and services through continuing education courses and with peer interaction. They also provide him the opportunity to network with the best specialists in the area so he can provide patients with the best care possible.
Dr. Grill currently lives in Isle of Hope with his wife Ellen, son Elliott, daughter Olivia and their dog Remy. They enjoy the city of Savannah and all the culture and excitement it has to offer. A love of outdoor activities including running, cycling, boating, fishing and camping keeps Dr. Grill and his wife busy.
They are patrons of the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra, The Savannah Film Festival and The Savannah Music Festival and enjoy evenings on the town in conjunction with these and other events.

Dr. Matt Grill
Dr. Ryan Burroughs grew up in Brooklet, Georgia, graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in biology from Georgia Southern University, and obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University.
Upon completing dental school, Dr. Burroughs completed a two-year advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) and general practice (GPR) residency with a focus on surgical procedures including extractions, implant placement and IV conscious sedation. Dr. Burroughs moved to Savannah to start his private practice career in 2018.
Dr. Burroughs is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Georgia Dental Association (GDA), the Southeast District Dental Society (SEDDS), the Savannah Dental Society, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID). Such groups ensure Dr.
Burroughs is up to date with modern techniques and procedures through continuing education courses and interaction with colleagues within the profession. Affiliations with these groups also allow him the opportunity to network and partner with the top specialists
in the area to ensure the best care possible for patients.
Dr. Burroughs lives on Burnside Island with his wife Candis (who is a hygienist within our practice), son Rocky, and their dog Brass. They thoroughly enjoy the beautiful people and city of Savannah and all its historical culture. When not in the dental office, he and his family love traveling and being outdoors on the water, golfing, fishing, and enjoying all the amazing restaurants, coffee shops and bars throughout Savannah with friends and family.
Dr. Burroughs is a member of the Forest City Gun Club (FCGC), the Savannah St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee and attends mass at the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist.
